The Longku Center
Our center Longku Zopa Gyu was founded 2001, first as an FPMT study-group and since 2004 it is an officially acknowledged member of the international Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition FPMT. which is based on the Gelug-School of the Tibetan Buddhism, founded by Je Tsong Khapa (1357 – 1419).
We are an independent group of the center for Buddhism „Changchub Shenpen Ling“, which was founded by Ueli Minder in 1995 in Bern and which is an oecumenic, Buddhist center since 2000.
Changchub Shenpen Ling unites 4 Traditions:
- the Vipassana meditation group Bern (Theravada Buddhismus)
- the Zen meditation group (Paul Shepard, Chô Un)
- our Tibetian-Buddhist group Longku Zopa Gyu.
This shows our major concern to preserve the openness towards different traditions which is shown us by H.H. Dalai Lama beispielhaft vorlebt.
It is the desire of our center "Longku" to inspire interested persons and bring closer to them the buddhist practice with a wide range of lectures, classes, meditation and discussion.
Since beginning of 2022 we are in a new location.
Our attitude to the practice protector (Shugden) is fully consistent with that of H.H. Dalai Lama. more... (Select language right in tex)
